  • About the Port

    Saudi Arabia's transformation from a raw material exporter state to a gas/oil industrial producer, has led to the construction of King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail in 1974, to serve Jubail Industrial city.

    The port was designed to import raw materials required by local industries, as well as to export industrial products, such as petrochemicals, refined petroleum products, chemical fertilizers and sulfur.

    Ship Sizes transporting solid and liquid materials reach 6,000 tons up to 110,000 tons, ships transporting petrochemicals from 2,000 tons to 80,000 tons, Chemical Tankers for the carriage of refined petroleum products from 12,000 tons to 360,000 tons, and LPG carriers from 1,000 tons to 80,000 tons.

  • Services:

    Various types of cargoes are handled in King Fahad Industrial Port Services in Jubail, especially on specialized berths of companies engaged in long term lease contracts. These cargoes types are as follows:
  • Solid Bulk Cargo:

    Chemical fertilizers are mainly exported in the form of bulk shipments. The port also has facilities for exporting bagged fertilizers.

    Iron ore cargo (lumps or small beads) is imported through a dedicated berth, and then transported to the iron and steel plant by a conveyor belt.

     
  • Liquid Bulk cargo:

    Six different types of refined petroleum products are exported through three dedicated berths. Facilities for importing essential products for lubricants are also available.

     
  • Liquid Petroleum Gas Products:

    Ethylene, Butane, Butadiene, Propylene, Phenol Chloride and Monomer are handled through a special berth.

    Private facilities for handling Butane are also available on one of the berths that is dedicated for handling petrochemicals. Other Ammonia handling facilities also exist on two other berths.

     
  • Port Berths

There is a total of 34 berths distributed throughout the port:

  • 4 berths are dedicated for small vessels.
  • 10 berths are dedicated for bulk solid materials with total length from 23 to 250 m and a draft of 13.3 m. These berths are distributed as follows:
  • 1 berth for sulfur.
  • 1 berth for Petcoke (Petroleum Coal) transport.
  • 2 berth for general cargoes (factory equipment).
  • 2 berths for importing Iron Ore.
  • 4 berths for the export of fertilizers.
  • 13 petrochemical berths, 3 of which are for liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), with length of 282 m and draft of 15.2 m.
  • 1 berth for refined petroleum products tankers, with length of 282 m and daft of 15.2 m.
  • 2 berths for refined petroleum products tankers, with length of 346 m and draft of 28 m.
